Life on campus

Your time as a student will sometimes be characterized by hard, work-intensive phases. You may also reach your personal limits at one time or another. However, you will have a lot of fun with us during your studies – in classes and seminars, as part of your self-management, at events and festivals of the Wirtschaftsjuristische Gesellschaft Mainz e.V., the Business Law Department Student Council and the AStA, and in the many additional elective opportunities.

Join our XING group Wirtschaftsrecht - Business Law | Hochschule Mainz - University of Applied Sciences and get in touch with fellow students from various semesters, graduates, and lecturers as a member of this group. This will enable you to expand your network and you will be invited to our Business Law student and alumni events.

Together with the Business Law Student Council, the Wirtschaftsjuristische Gesellschaft Mainz e.V. organizes the annual Business Law Night. It is held regularly on the last Saturday of the exam period at the end of the summer semester. Along with business representatives, more than half of all Business Law students, the majority of the lecturers of the Business Law degree programs, and alumni of the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Business Law regularly participate in this event.

Sports

The general university athletics (AHS) for our students are organized by JGU Mainz. The range of activities is varied – from A for aerobics or American football to archery, capoeira, jiu-jitsu, sailing, underwater rugby and Y for yoga. The athletic program includes health and general sports activities along with competitive sports. All you need to participate is your student ID. You can find both the complete list of activities and the registration procedures in the program booklet (only available in German).

Wirtschaftsjuristische Gesellschaft Mainz e.V.

The Wirtschaftsjuristische Gesellschaft Mainz e.V., founded by students, graduates, and faculty of the Business Law degree programs, supports teaching and research in Business Law and promotes the professional development of our Business Law graduates with its network. The five events held each year provide a platform for interaction between our students, graduates, lecturers, and potential employers. Please feel free to address any questions or suggestions directly to the association’s board of directors (vorstand (at) wjgm.de).

Semester speakers meeting

In each semester group, two semester spokespersons are elected each semester to represent the students’ interests to the degree program management. The semester speaker meeting takes place twice a semester, where the semester speakers of all semester groups of the entire degree program convene. Here, the semester representatives actively participate in the further development of the degree program.

Business Law Department Student Council

The Business Law Student Council supports Business Law students through various measures in their everyday studies and in recreational activities for students. All students enrolled in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Business Law are members of the Business Law Student Council. The students elect the department student council. You can reach the council at fachschaft-wr (at) hs-mainz.de or on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/FachschaftWirtschaftsrecht
