One-off Payment
General Information
The one-off payment of 200 Euros for students in accordance with the energy price allowance (EPPSG) was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The law came into force on December 21, 2022. The one-time payment is intended to support young people in view of the higher burdens caused by increased costs for heating, electricity and groceries.
All students who were enrolled at a German University as of December 1, 2022, are eligible for these funds (except for guest auditors who were not enrolled). Eligibility is contingent on having had residence or “habitual” residence in Germany as of said date.
The receipt of the energy price flat rate of 300 euros for employed persons and the receipt of the heating cost subsidy do not conflict with the entitlement to the one-off payment of 200 euros.
Important note: The application platform as well as the verification and payment are carried out by the federal government, not the Mainz University of Applied Sciences. We can therefore only answer questions about providing the access code and PIN via CIM. For all other questions, there is a comprehensive FAQ on the application platform and an information hotline.
Four steps to receive the one-off payment from March 15th on
The BundID account is the federal user account. You can use this account to sign up for many online administrative services. To register at www.einmalzahlung200.de, you usually need a BundID account with one of the following accesses:
- Online identification function of your identity card, your electronic residence permit or your Union citizen card, or
- EU identity, i.e. the electronic identification (eID) of your European home country, or
- personal ELSTER certificate
If you opt to create your BundID account using only a standard username and password, you will also require a PIN to submit your request. You will receive the PIN via CIM starting March 14th. For the request, you will need the BundID, the access code (see below), and the PIN.
Please log in to CIM with your student access data starting March 13th in the afternoon. There you will find the access code directly at the start page under the name „Mein EPPSG-Berechtigungscode". Within the next days, you will also find the PIN there. The PIN is needed if you only register with your username and passwort at BundID.
You can submit an application for the payment of the one-off payment starting March 15th and enter your bank details on the federal application platform. To do this, you need the BundID and the access code from CIM. The application deadline is October 2nd 2023. After this date, the platform will shut down.
If all the requirements are met, you will receive an official notice by email awarding you the payment, and the 200 euros will be transferred to your specified bank account. You enter the email address on the application platform.
