Information Design Department Conference in Berlin

Information Design has become firmly established as a discipline both in the design industry and at universities in recent years. On November 11, 14 information design professors from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland met at Berlin College of Fine Arts (UdK) in Berlin to discuss the various forms and focuses of degree programs at universities of applied sciences and universities.

Information designers organize, conceive, and design digital and analog communication media. They select the appropriate media for conveying content, give visual form to processes and communication, and prepare data in an interactive and user-friendly manner.

In the course of this professional exchange, Prof. Anna-Lisa Schönecker had the opportunity to present her work in teaching and research at Mainz University of Applied Sciences and the Institute Designlabor Gutenberg with a focus on information design. The innovative forum served to establish a new level of expertise, presenting both common ground and diversity in the key areas in an international context, and signifying transnational exchange in teaching and research.
