In December, our Honorary Chairman, Prof. Dr. Dietrich Goldenbaum, passed away.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a longtime supporter and mentor.

Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife and family. We owe him a great deal for his dedication to the “Alumnity” Friends of the Department Association.

At the end of November, we visited the Frankfurt Stock Exchange together with our member Prof. Dr. Anja Wittstock and students from the Department of Economics.

Afterward, the members of Alumnity and some students spent a pleasant afternoon at a café.

During the graduation ceremony on November 19, 2022, we were once again honored to present the Kurt Dörr Prize to particularly dedicated members of the Department of Economics.

We are presenting the award retroactively to graduate Ann-Kathrin Grohs for the year 2021; Prof. Dr. Paul is this year’s recipient! We extend our warmest congratulations to both of them!

We also congratulated this year’s alumni on reaching this new milestone and reminded them that they can stay in touch with the university, current students, and other alumni through Alumnity.

Our event “Alumnity Presents” on November 8, 2022, took place at Café Raab, and members and guests also joined online.

The topic was “Being a Boss? Better to Make a Difference! Why We No Longer Need Managers,” and it was presented by Dr. Silke Schemer and Mr. Gebhard Borck.

The fascinating content was presented with great enthusiasm and sparked a lively discussion.

On Saturday, May 7, we held our general meeting at Café Raab with a total of 15 attendees. Our president, Claudia Huberti, reported on the past year, and our treasurer, Patrick Scharinger, explained the association’s financial situation. We were pleased to welcome a total of 23 members.

Networking & Career Fair at the School of Business

The business community visited the Mainz University of Applied Sciences campus, and Alumnity was right in the thick of it!

On Thursday, May 5, 2022, 40 companies from various industries met the workforce of tomorrow—our students. Over 500 students took advantage of the opportunity to talk with company representatives and explore job opportunities, work-study positions, internships, and thesis projects. We also had a booth there and were able to recruit several new members.
