Mission

Alumnity e.V. is dedicated to networking and support within the Department of Economics. We offer students, professors, alumni, and partner companies a platform to interact as equals, build connections, and foster dialogue among members.

We support our members through tangible and intangible measures. We strengthen their sense of belonging to the Department of Economics. Our goal is to foster a trusting exchange among members and to provide them with individual support in both their personal and professional lives.

The annual membership fee is €30 for individuals, €45 for married couples, and €100 for companies—but you’re always welcome to contribute more.

We invite all students in the Department of Economics to join as guest members free of charge.

History

The history of the Alumnity began with the founding of the Association for the Support of Students Combining Work and Study—FÖBIS.

Even at that time, the goal was to foster a sense of community after graduation. As an extension of this, the “Förderverein Fachhochschule Mainz (FFM)” was founded within the Department of Economics, and a wide variety of the department’s existing associations subsequently joined it. Around 2010, the association—which remained part of the Department of Economics—was renamed the “Mainz University of Applied Sciences Economics Forum (WFFM).”

Since 2015, the association has been known as “Alumnity Wirtschaft Hochschule Mainz e.V.,” as the university had previously transitioned from a university of applied sciences to a university. Despite these name changes, the focus remains the same: “networking” and “supporting.”

As an association of current and former students, staff, teaching assistants, faculty, and companies in the Department of Economics at Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Alumnity offers the following services, among others:

Opportunities and platforms to build relationships with one another and reconnect with former contacts
Information about interesting events and activities in the Department of Economics
Support in establishing contacts within the Department of Economics regarding student activities, as well as connecting students with contacts to help them find internships
Financial support for research and teaching at the School of Business
Improvement of study conditions for students and faculty
Access to the library on campus
