What we stand for

Practice-based, theoretically sound, international, and focused on the future

Studying at Mainz University of Applied Sciences provides you with the best possible preparation for your professional career and your future. We are known for our close integration of teaching, research, and practice. The collaboration between the university and industry is particularly close here: Our on-the-job part-time degree programs alone maintain 450 cooperative partnerships, primarily with businesses in the Rhine-Main region.

This benefits everyone. The business sector profits from the innovative ideas the university offers, while students benefit from the companies’ concrete objectives. This is evident in the introduction of international and forward-looking degree programs such as Time-Based Media, International Business, and Digital Media, for example. Despite challenging subjects, our degree programs remain manageable in terms of the duration. Our focus is always on our students: They benefit from the familiar atmosphere, small groups, and project-oriented learning here.

From research to technology transfer

In applied research and development, we deliver internationally recognized excellence in many fields, which is clearly demonstrated by numerous third-party-funded projects and patent developments. With new key research areas, we continuously drive innovative approaches in research and development, which we then implement with our collaboration partners from the worlds of business, science, culture, and industry.

Eight institutes with their own key research areas have emerged from our university’s schools to date; the pioneers among them have been working independently and successfully for more than ten years now.

To promote exchanges with external partners from public institutions and industry, the university’s central Research & Transfer Office provides support to all partners involved in research and development projects.

Living Democracy

Mainz University of Applied Sciences as a space for open exchange

Upholding mutual respect in our interactions with one another, defending democracy, and protecting academic and scientific freedom are of the utmost importance to us, even more so in an era when these values can no longer be taken for granted in our country. At Mainz University of Applied Sciences, we stand united in defense of the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany and liberal democratic principles.
