2014 Kurt Dörr Special Prize

honors the Institute for Entrepreneurship

The Kurt Dörr Special Prize—worth €500—was awarded for the first time in the history of the Economics Forum on April 4, 2014, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Department of Economics. The trophy, presented as a symbol of the special prize, had been created in collaboration with the Department of Design at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Matthias Käsler won the student competition with his model “Artichoke.” The design features a multitude of orange logos from the Department of Economics encircling the white “core” of the trophy, within which an engraved inscription represents the Department of Economics, its 50 years of existence, and the Economics Forum of Mainz University of Applied Sciences. The award was presented to the IUH—Institute for Entrepreneurial Action—under the direction of Professor Dr. Elmar D. Konrad. It received the award for its extraordinary and sustained commitment to the Department of Economics and the university, as well as for its expert guidance and academic support of the students.
