Study on Digital Corporate Communication Completed

The Study Digital Corporate Communications Benchmark by RYZE Digital in cooperation with Mainz University of Applied Sciences (WIMM Research Group) has been successfully completed. The study examined the degree of digitization in corporate communications at Germany’s 90 largest publicly traded companies (DAX 40 + MDAX).

The focus was on the use and design of digital communication channels, particularly corporate websites andrelevant social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. The study was based on a mixed-methods approach that combined quantitative analyses using a categorization scheme of 96 items withqualitative expert interviews with executives from the fields of corporate communications and investor relations.

The results show that the digitalization of corporate communications is generally at a solid level, but still exhibits significant differences across the areas examined: employer branding, recruiting, public relations, investor relations, and CSR and sustainability communications. There is a particular need for improvement in the areas of interaction, process automation, and accessibility.

“Through targeted measures, companies will be able to set themselves apart from the crowd even more clearly in the future,” is a key conclusion of the study. The outlook also highlights that strategic investments in digital infrastructure, processes, and communication formats are crucial for modernizing corporate communications in the long term and achieving sustainable differentiation.
