Once you have been admitted to a degree program, you will be informed of this in writing in a letter of admission.
The letter of admission and the enclosures contain the following information:
- the notification of the degree program in which you have been admitted
- the notification of the enrollment period
- the notification of the documents required with the application for enrollment (proof of health insurance, for example)
- the notification of documents to be subsequently submitted
- the notification of the payment of the semester fee with account details
Proof of health insurance
To enroll as a student at Mainz University of Applied Sciences, you must submit a special insurance certificate. Without a correct insurance certificate, enrollment at Mainz University of Applied Sciences is not possible.
Students with statutory insurance
The proof to be submitted will be issued by your health insurance company. This certificate confirms that you are insured during your studies. Any change in your health insurance company must be reported to the university together with proof of insurance. For this proof, the universities only accept the original certificate from the insurer. The health insurance card is not accepted as proof.
Privately insured students
If you are privately insured, you will receive a certificate from any statutory health insurance company (AOK, Techniker, etc.) stating that you are one of the following:
- exempt from compulsory insurance
- not subject to compulsory insurance
To do this, you must submit proof of your private health insurance to a statutory health insurance provider.
If you have previously been insured with a statutory health insurance provider, only this health insurance provider can issue a corresponding certificate (exemption from the statutory health insurance obligation).
Student identity card
The student identity card includes the semester ticket/StudiTicket. It shall be presented together with an official photo ID during any checks. Further information about the coverage of the semester ticket/StudiTicket can be found on the AStA website.
Re-registration for the next semester
Information on the re-registration deadline and the student fee to be entered can be found on the re-registration page.
We would like to draw your attention to the possibility of issuing further certificates via the university information portal HIP ain the future. The certificates that can be printed out there free of charge are assigned a verification code and can therefore be checked for authenticity.
The iTAN procedure has been implemented at Mainz University of Applied Sciences for authentication. Information can be found under "important information" on your enrollment certificates (Leporello). We will provide you with the remaining access data required for the procedure during the orientation week or after you have started your studies.
