The new media building is taking shape—and before the first visible construction work begins in winter 2025 as planned, the architectural firm Dietrich | Untertrifaller and the Landesbetrieb Liegenschafts- und Baubetreuung (LBB) provided updates on the planning status and next steps in the planning process. The new facility is expected to be ready for occupancy in 2030. Participants in this special project enjoyed the beautiful weather, sparkling wine, and pretzels while engaging in conversation.
In addition to President Prof. Dr. Susanne Weissman, attendees included Prof. Olaf Hirschberg (Mainz University of Applied Sciences’ construction project representative for the media building), Norbert Seemayer and Kristof Korwisi (both from the university’s planning staff), and Prof. Harald Pulch—former head of the Time-Based Media degree program and co-creator of the joint media building concept between Mainz University of Applied Sciences and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) exactly 20 years ago.
Thanks to Prof. Katja Schupp (JGU construction project representative) and her team for the planning and organization.
