At Mainz University of Applied Sciences, internationalisation is not an add-on – it is part of who we are.

Mainz University of Applied Sciences is an international place in the heart of Europe. Students from more than 60 nations study here, international students account for more than 15% of our student body, and we are connected to more than 160 partner universities worldwide. International degree programmes, mobility, global projects and international teaching formats are part of everyday life at our university.

Our Internationalisation Strategy builds on this foundation and sets out how we are systematically continuing to develop our international profile.

Our Vision for an International Mainz University of Applied Sciences

An International Place in the Heart of Europe

We are a university that thinks, acts and connects internationally. We continue to strengthen our international profile, maintain strong partnerships worldwide and bring international perspectives into teaching, learning, research and knowledge transfer.

We do not see ourselves as observers of a globalised world. We actively shape international developments and take responsibility.

A Place for People from Around the World

Internationality is shaped by the people who make up our university. People from different cultures and backgrounds study, teach, work and live here.

We are a university where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, contribute and learn from one another – openly, respectfully and without discrimination.

A University for Global Citizens

Our students are not only excellently prepared for their careers. They develop the ability to act confidently, openly and responsibly in an international and diverse world.

That is why we foster a global mindset, intercultural competences and international experience. In this way, we create the conditions for our graduates to succeed in international labour markets and find their place in an interconnected world.

Internationalisation with a Clear Direction

Our Internationalisation Strategy connects this vision with concrete goals and fields of action. It provides guidance for the further development of our international degree programmes, mobility opportunities, partnerships, teaching and learning formats, and our international university culture.

Internationalisation is a cross-cutting responsibility across the entire university. The International Office supports and coordinates this process together with the schools, central services and other members of the university community.

Our goal is clear: a Mainz University of Applied Sciences where internationality is a natural part of university life – and which at the same time confidently contributes international perspectives and impulses.
