International Office – Your Gateway to a Global Campus
Internationalisation is not just a goal – it is a guiding principle. And at Mainz University of Applied Sciences, it is already part of everyday campus life.
Mainz University of Applied Sciences is an international and open-minded institution. With students from more than 60 countries and an international student share of over 15%, our campus is a vibrant, globally connected environment. At the same time, our university’s overall orientation is international – from academic programmes and partnerships to research and project activities around the world.
The International Office brings together and coordinates the international activities of Mainz University of Applied Sciences. We actively shape and support the university’s internationalisation processes and open up international opportunities for students, faculty and staff.
Whether you are planning a study period abroad, developing international partnerships or exploring innovative teaching formats such as COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning), the International Office is here to support and advise you.
Our Role and Services
A brief overview of the core responsibilities of the International Office:
We coordinate international study and mobility programmes (such as Erasmus) and support students throughout their international experience – from initial planning and application to the recognition of academic achievements.
The International Office provides guidance to students, faculty and staff on all aspects of international mobility, funding opportunities, recognition procedures and language preparation – in both German and English, individually and accessibly.
We maintain relationships with more than 160 partner universities worldwide and develop strategic, interdisciplinary alliances for teaching, research and academic exchange. These networks foster collaboration on globally relevant topics and enable long-term international cooperation.
At Mainz University of Applied Sciences, internationalisation is not only practiced – it is strategically developed. It forms part of the university’s institutional strategy, promotes a culture of openness and contributes to educating students as global citizens.
