The 7th Company Fair at Mainz University of Applied Sciences' School of Business once again offered another impressive platform for communication and networking between students and employers. As a networking and career fair, the event brought together 53 companies from a wide range of sectors, around 200 company representatives and some 780 students on campus – a complete success.
The students took advantage of this opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about internships, student jobs and starting their careers. “It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and network,” business administration students Tabea and Ben reported enthusiastically. Memo, a second semester business law student, was also very pleased: “I mainly had a look at the auditing companies. A lot of former business law students work there. You can have great conversations with them and get some important tips,” says the Sauerland native.
Students Ama and Fina were also clearly in favor of continuing the event in the future: “The Company Fair should definitely be upheld. The opportunity to talk directly to companies is really great.”
The feedback from the exhibitors was also consistently positive. Many of them praised the students’ considerable interest and good preparation. It was frequently pointed out that many of the attendees were specifically looking for internships or student jobs.
Anna Six, a university alumna and long-time company representative for KPMG, also expressed her satisfaction: “It’s great to see how interested the students are.” She always enjoys returning to her alma mater. First-time exhibitors, such as those from Lumaya or Mainz city government, were also impressed by the concept and enthusiastic about the exchange with the students.
In addition to networking and the wide range of job offers on the well-filled “job wall”, the students were also able to engage in sports activities. Many put their goal-kicking speed to the test at the “Bum-Bum-Ballerbox” of 1. FSV Mainz 05 - Leopold set the record for the day with 113 km/h. Those who preferred a more relaxed atmosphere posed for a souvenir photo at the Wiesbaden photo box or enjoyed a cup of coffee from Müller coffee roasting company.
The Company Fair once again proved to be a significant fair for networking and careers and an important building block in the exchange between the university and the business world – with excellent opportunities for getting started on a career.
