Hartmut Müller traveled to San Marino and Hyderabad to talk about the digital transformation of land management.

As spokesperson for the International Federation of Surveyors, FIG, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, UN FAO, Hartmut Müller attended the 83rd session of the UNECE Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management in early October. There he presented the results of a joint study of the FIG and the UN on Digital Transformation and Land Administration, Sustainable Practices from UNECE Region and Beyond. The study focuses on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN and how land administration agencies around the world can contribute to achieving the goals. The conference was held in San Marino from October 3-7.

Already the following week, Müller traveled as an attendee and spokesperson of FIG to Hyderabad, India for the Second United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress with more than 1,000 attendees from all over the world. Together with FIG's President, Rudolf Staiger, hosted a well-attended event titled The Importance of Land Administration for the Implementation of the SDGs. Staiger spoke about the importance of secure land ownership, and Müller followed with a presentation on the digital transformation of land administration. The lively discussion showed the importance attributed to this complex topic. The congress provided an excellent platform for highlighting FIG's expertise in land management and demonstrating the importance of this discipline in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The i3mainz, represented by Hartmut Müller and Markus Schaffert, previously attracted attention with its strong presence at the FIG Congress 2022 of the International Federation of Surveyors in Warsaw.
