Library of Things

The Library of Things is a new library service that students and staff at Mainz University of Applied Sciences can use to check out not only books and media, but also everyday items, tools, and equipment.

The collection includes a growing range of practical items, from tools and games to sports equipment, electronics, and more, and its guiding principle is for people to share instead of owning.

Items can be requested through OPAC. There is no cost to borrowing them, and you can check them out during staffed service hours at the circulation desk. Use is at your own risk; all items must be used carefully, appropriately, and in accordance with the safety and operating instructions. Please examine the completeness and condition of each item and any accessories before checking them out and report any damage or defects to library staff immediately. Passing items on to third parties is not permitted. Items must be returned complete, clean, and in working order during staffed service hours at the circulation desk. Charges may apply in the event of loss, damage, or incomplete return. By borrowing an item, you agree to the Library of Things terms of use.
