Frame your Mainz vibes!

For the first time, the International Office of Hochschule Mainz, together with LEI – the Local Erasmus+ Initiative, organized a photo competition for exchange students in the winter semester 2025/26. Based on the theme “Frame your Mainz vibes!”, all incoming students were invited to capture their personal Mainz moments – snapshots that reflect the atmosphere and spirit of their new temporary home.

Whether it’s the impressive Mainz Cathedral, the historic Holzturm, a view of the Rhine, the bustling scene at the Höfchen bus stop, or spontaneous group photos of new friendships. The submitted images showcase the many ways exchange students experience Mainz and which places, moods or encounters shape their time here.

The 15 submitted photographs are now presented in an exhibition on display from 8 to 12 December 2025 in the foyer of the Holzstraße. The images not only offer insight into individual perspectives but also highlight the diverse connections students form with a new city.

In mid-December, the best photographs will be awarded during the International Office Christmas Celebration, but starting today, the exhibition invites visitors for one week to discover Mainz through the eyes of its exchange students.
