Are you perhaps still undecided on whether to do a full-time or dual program? It is of course a very personal decision that only you can make. Here are some aspects that may help you in your decision-making process.
Here are some of the benefits of the dual studies:
- Integrated vocational training: double qualification (degree program and vocational training) in a shorter time
- With integrated practical work: “Only” in combination with an internship
- On-the-job: in combination with relevant professional employment
The following applies to all models:
- Gain early impressions of the company
- Long-term retention in the company possible
- Learn to take on responsibility
- Get positioned for a job or a company and for the job market in general. ➔ Employers like to keep their dual students
- Learn to cope with stress: Helps in your later career and is welcomed by employers
When considering starting a dual program, you should naturally consider various aspects.
Are you prepared to put in twice the effort (degree program and internship or degree program and vocational training) for a certain period of time? This also means giving up free time.
Weigh the pros and cons for yourself!

Studying with integrated vocational training
You do not need a trainee position for a degree program that integrates practical work. You need a signed apprenticeship contract for a degree program that integrates vocational training, and for an on-the-job degree program, you will need relevant professional experience (where applicable with a completed apprenticeship beforehand).
You can find more information on the pages of the individual degree programs and in the “How to Apply” section.
Vocational school is not required for dual students. However, most employers do value this additional training.
