A wonderful opportunity to engage with creative and highly educated young people

The 3rd Business Day at the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences will take place on May 20. This time, it will be held both in person and virtually. The virtual event is an initiative organized by the School for its 2,130 full-time students in the bachelor’s and master’s programs. On Business Day, business representatives are brought together with students to connect with one another and build or expand their networks. Students gain a deeper understanding of the business world, and participating companies have the opportunity to engage with future employees early on. “We think it’s great that the 3rd Corporate Day can take place digitally despite the current situation,” emphasizes Julia Erk from Michelin. The company plans to use this opportunity to recruit students for internships, part-time student jobs, or to kickstart their careers.

The program is diverse: 42 companies from various industries are offering 55 live presentations and 230 so-called one-on-one meetings. During these meetings, students exchange ideas with company representatives. They can ask about jobs, internships, or thesis projects, start building a strong foundation for their post-graduation career, or simply seek advice. Business administration student Marisa Milani knows exactly why she’s attending the event: “I want to complete my master’s degree while working,” she reveals. And the Corporate Day offers her the perfect opportunity to “learn about future employers.”

Students can look forward to 55 presentations on various topics, such as online marketing, sustainability, digitalization, e-commerce projects, tax consulting, software development, successful job applications, and many more. With just one click, they can learn more about companies like BRITA and DeinDesign, KPMG and Ernst & Young, as well as Michelin and Eckes-Granini. BRITA GmbH aims above all to convince students of its future-oriented market in drinking water optimization. “We want to attract young talent,” affirms Rebekka Hilbert (Human Resources and Organizational Development). Hilbert, herself a graduate of Mainz University of Applied Sciences, is very excited to introduce students to this regionally based yet highly global family-owned company. “And to return to the university, even if it’s only virtually.”
The Bad Kreuznach-based company URANO is participating for the third time. “Company Day is always a great opportunity to engage with creative and highly educated young professionals. We’d like to take advantage of this opportunity virtually as well,” says Dr. Gernot Uhl, Senior Consultant. Karoline Kronz also wants to make the most of this opportunity: “Company Day brings me a step closer to my professional future.” That’s why the business administration student is looking forward to getting to know the people behind these exciting companies and networking with potential employers.
