On May 3, 2023, the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences hosted the 5th Company Fair Day, which brought together full-time students of the School of Business and companies from various industries. With a record participation of over 700 students, the event was a great success and provided an ideal platform for networking and careers. A total of 55 renowned companies from the region were on campus. More than 160 company representatives were on hand to answer students’ questions and discuss career prospects.
“For us students, the Company Fair was a great opportunity to connect with companies from the Rhine-Main region and talk face-to-face,” emphasizes Joshua, a business law student. He and his fellow students were able to establish new contacts after just a few conversations, and they are now engaged in exchanges with them regarding an internship or working student position. “All those who were really interested had the opportunity to take new connections home with them” adds Joshua. Xenia, a student in the Masters in International Business program, also found “the initiative of the School to bring companies and students together in this way to be very positive.” She said the support and networking opportunities were extremely valuable for her personal and professional development.
The companies were also very satisfied: “It was a great pleasure to exchange ideas with the students at the event,” says Elnaz Karami from Dell Technologies. And confirms, “We would really like to be there again next year, at the 6th Company Fair.”
One particular highlight of the day was the Bum-Bum Baller Box from 1. FSV Mainz 05, which attracted a lot of interest. Students had the opportunity to test their shooting speed and win tickets to a home game of the 05 soccer team. The men's winner achieved a speed of 117 km/h. Among the female participants, the winner shot the ball into the box at 89 km/h.
The 5th Company Fair also reinforced the link between the School of Business and the companies. And it does not end here: The School is already looking forward to the 6th Company Fair next year, and to continuing to successfully bring students and companies together.
