Faculty members from Mainz teach at Abra Minch University in Ethiopia

For the past three years, professors from Mainz University of Applied Sciences have been teaching in the PhD program at Arba Minch University in Ethiopia. Dr. Gemechu Nemera (4th from left), the director of the doctoral program there, has now handed over the course to Prof. Dr. Susanne Rank for a one-week training session on leadership and human resource management. Prior to this, Prof. Dr. Daniel Porath completed his course on quantitative research methods. “The intensive collaboration with the young Ethiopian researchers was exceptionally motivating for me and provided me with many new insights,” emphasizes Prof. Porath, who has taught at the Ethiopian partner university on several occasions. Prof. Susanne Rank is also enthusiastic about the prospective doctoral students: “The Ph.D. students are highly motivated. It is a great pleasure for me to discuss HRM concepts, best practices, and the latest HRM research findings with them and to provide them with ideas for their research projects,” she says.
