2022 Academic Graduation Ceremony

After a two-year break, the School of Business bids farewell to its graduates again

Finally back to celebrating and being celebrated. After a two-year break due to covid, the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences bid farewell to its graduates with an academic graduation ceremony held at the Electoral Palace (Kurfürstliches Schloss). About 850 guests including graduates, family, friends, and professors gathered in the Great Hall to celebrate graduation.

“You possess personal maturity. You are qualified with regard to content and are able to handle yourself, and most importantly, you have a high level of employability,” emphasized Prof. Dr. Jörn Redler, Dean of the School, in his speech to the graduates. He also added that it is precisely this high level of employability that is typical of graduates of Mainz University of Applied Sciences and forms the basis for their professional success. Redler expressed his particular appreciation to the former students with regard to their studies during the covid pandemic. “They mastered their studies despite the circumstances and quickly adapted to digital instruction.”

All of the graduates in attendance were called to the stage one by one and were delighted to receive personal congratulations from their respective degree program directors. In addition, this year's graduation ceremony was distinguished by numerous awards and honors: the Kurt Dörr Prize for outstanding commitment at the School of Business was awarded for 2021 and 2022, as well as the DAAD Prize and, for the first time, the School of Business Prize for excellent research theses. Three doctoral students who earned their doctorates at the School were also honored. The best of the best, meaning graduates who completed their studies with a grade of very good, were awarded cash prizes and certificates for outstanding achievements in their studies.

We are very proud of 647 young people from 16 degree programs who successfully mastered their bachelor’s or master’s degree in the academic year 2021/22.
