Mainz University of Applied Sciences will offer the new master’s program in Applied Computer Science starting in the 2023/2024 winter semester. Interested students can apply for the program starting now.
Housed within the School of Engineering, the program is designed for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science or a related field and wish to deepen their knowledge in this area. The program focuses on software engineering and artificial intelligence (AI). Students can expect a wide range of courses covering both theoretical and practical aspects.
“We are proud that, with this new program, we can make an important contribution to the training of highly qualified professionals in the field of information technology. We are convinced that our graduates will be able to successfully solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions,” says program director Prof. Dr. Thomas Klauer.
The program provides a comprehensive, detailed, and critical understanding of the subject matter, based on the latest knowledge and technology in the fields of software engineering, software development, applied artificial intelligence, information visualization—for example, using augmented and virtual reality—and general information technology. Students learn how to develop and implement complex software systems, machine learning algorithms, and deep learning models. The application of AI in industry and other fields is also part of the curriculum.
