Campus Life During the COVID-19 Pandemic

On March 16, 2020, the lockdown began at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Since then, the campus at Lucy-Hillebrand-Straße 2 has resembled a ghost town. In mid-June, the university began to come back to life as many students entered the building for the first time in a while to take in-person exams. Since then, masks, hand sanitizer dispensers, barrier tape, and widely spaced tables have become a daily sight on campus. Campus life has been turned upside down, and we’ve all faced unique challenges. Photographer Nathalie Zimmermann documented the atmosphere on campus during the exam period.
