DAAD Prize for Robert Moldoveanu

Thanks to his outstanding academic achievements and his social engagement, Robert Moldoveanu is receiving the DAAD Prize. The prize is endowed with 1,000 euros and is made available to universities by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This award is intended to honor international students for exceptional academic achievements and remarkable social engagement. Robert Moldoveanu is currently completing his Master’s degree in International Business at the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. In addition to his outstanding academic achievements, the Romanian native stands out for his open-mindedness and willingness to help others. For example, he is involved in social projects and helps foreigners integrate into German society. Program director Prof. Dr. Daniel Porath nominated the master’s student for the award. Robert Moldoveanu caught Porath’s attention through his active participation and valuable contributions. Porath found his ability to adapt “amazingly good”. “To me, you seemed like someone who was born in Germany,” Daniel Porath emphasized in his laudatory speech. Moldoveanu had no difficulties in his studies and is completing his master’s degree within the standard period of study with very good results. At the same time, he has also completed his master’s degree at the French partner university with very good results. Another reason for the nomination is the award recipient’s willingness to help others. “I nominated you because I observed how you helped your fellow students—who were struggling more with their studies than you were—almost silently and without making a big deal out of it.” In addition, the 26-year-old speaks seven languages: Romanian, German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish, and has a basic knowledge of Portuguese. “You are the ideal candidate for this award, and I’m delighted that the jury saw it that way too,” emphasizes Daniel Porath. Robert Moldoveanu was presented with the DAAD Award by the president, Prof. Dr. Gerhard Muth, during the academic graduation ceremony at the Electoral Palace. Congratulations!
