The Research Workshop

New Program Offered by the Department

Since the 2019/2020 winter semester, the Research Workshop has offered participants the opportunity to discuss and collaboratively solve problems related to finding, evaluating, managing, and citing sources. This service is intended for anyone working on an academic project—whether it’s a term paper, a presentation, a thesis, or a dissertation. This service is not limited to students; research-oriented staff members and professors are also warmly invited to take advantage of it. Consultations are open to all and require no prior registration: every Tuesday* between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. on campus in Room D0.10. The founder of the Research Workshop, Tobias Scholz, is an expert in searching academic databases and creating systematic literature reviews. A quick tip: For advice on writing and structuring your work, Dr. Sabine Karlstätter and Kathrin Dupré-Hock’s writing workshop takes place every Tuesday immediately afterward, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.—also in Room D0.10. *During the lecture-free period, please check the HIP schedule for Room D0.10—sessions may be canceled depending on demand. In urgent cases, please feel free to contact Mr. Scholz to schedule an appointment: tobias.scholz (at) hs-mainz.de
