Mainz University of Applied Sciences sends a signal for climate protection

On Saturday, March 26, the lights went out at Mainz University of Applied Sciences: Starting at 8:30 p.m., the lighting of the exhibition windows in the LUX Pavilion and the illumination of the university logo on campus were switched off for a period of one hour.

The initiative was part of Earth Hour 2022, a campaign organized by the WWF to call for greater global action to protect the climate and the environment. Famous buildings such as the Brandenburg Gate and Big Ben in London stand in symbolic darkness for an hour. Last year, more than 7,000 cities in over 180 countries took part in Earth Hour.
