On Saturday, March 25, the lights went out at Mainz University of Applied Sciences: Starting at 8:30 p.m., the lighting of the exhibition windows in the LUX Pavilion and the illumination of the university logo on campus were switched off.
The event was part of Earth Hour, a WWF campaign calling for greater commitment to climate and environmental protection. The idea behind it: People around the world turn off their lights at 8.30pm on the same day. The motto of the 17th Earth Hour was Give a break to a Mother Earth.
