On Monday, March 10, more than 200 first-semester students started their degree programs at the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. They are starting the bachelor’s degree programs in Business Administration (B.Sc.) and Business Law (LL.B.), as well as the master’s degree programs in Management (M.Sc.) and Labor Law & Human Resources Management (LL.M.).
Before the regular lecture period begins next week, the new students attend the Freshman Week. This orientation phase offers them valuable insights into their degree program and the School of Business. They also receive important information on exam regulations, the structure of the degree program, the services offered by the school and other relevant topics.
Dean Prof. Dr. Hans-Christoph Reiss warmly welcomed the first-semester students and emphasized the importance of the study period: “Studying at our university not only enables you to acquire subject-specific knowledge, but also to develop important skills that will accompany you on your career path.”
He gave the new students five key tips for a successful start: self-organization, active participation, use of resources, practical experience, and networking. In addition to the first-semester students, 50 international exchange students from Europe, Asia, and the Americas have also started their semester abroad at the School of Business. They will study in Mainz for one or two semesters and gain valuable intercultural experience.
