As the student council, the Fachschaft listens to students’ criticism, praise, and suggestions and serves as the voice of IT students in their interactions with faculty and the university. For professors, the team of 15 students from various degree programs is a reliable point of contact. Since its founding, the student council has been in constant communication with the General Student Committee (AStA) and the Student Parliament (StuPa).
In addition, the Student Council advises students on the aforementioned bodies regarding program-specific matters. These include, among other things, topics such as internship semesters, elective courses (selection of “options”), organizing studies during the COVID-19 pandemic, recognition of academic achievements, etc.
Furthermore, the student council is expanding its contacts with university departments and regional companies to facilitate students’ access to potential internship partners.
