"Jung&Abgdreht" Film Festival

Students from Mainz University of Applied Sciences Among the Winners

At the 3rd Hanau Youth Short Film Festival “Jung & Abgedreht,” two films from the Media Design/Time-Based Media program won awards in the Young Professionals category.

1st Place Film: “Kalipo-Lux”
Writers: Matthias Pfeiffer, Imanuel Spiegel

Synopsis: An escape from reality—from the urban, light-flooded metropolis—into a dreamlike, unhurried natural world that one no longer wants to or is able to leave.

Jury’s Statement: “A poetic, emotional story, presented in a visually stunning film that is impressively shot and edited.”

2nd Place Film: “P”

Writer: Lukas Rinker

Synopsis: Jürgen really has to go. He pulls over at the nearest rest stop and dashes into the bushes. There, the adventure of a lifetime awaits him.

Jury Statement:“A trash film in the best sense of the word—the viewer is taken on a humorous, bizarre, and macabre journey; various cinematic techniques are skillfully interwoven, and despite some genre references, the author’s distinct style is always recognizable.”
