For three decades, the Design Award has recognized outstanding design from Rhineland-Palatinate. The competition provides a platform for design professionals, emerging talents, and companies, showcasing the diverse ways in which design serves as a catalyst and driver of innovation in business and society.
To mark its 30th anniversary, the competition concept has been fundamentally revised in collaboration with various stakeholders. These are the most important changes: Designforum Rhineland-Palatinate | 2024 2 Effective immediately, the competition will be held jointly for all design disciplines. Entrants no longer need to select a category when submitting their work.
Another new feature is the criteria model that serves as the basis for evaluation by the Design Award jury. The independent jury will award up to twelve design prizes to professionals and emerging talents, and the most outstanding works in each category will be awarded the title “BEST OF 2024.” In addition, the jury may award a special prize: This year’s theme, “Shaping Democracy,” focuses on exemplary projects that promote democracy. Up-and-coming designers can also look forward to prize money totaling 5,000 euros!
From May 6 to July 31, 2024, all female designers, agencies, students, vocational school students, as well as companies and craft businesses with a connection to Rhineland-Palatinate can submit their projects: submit.designpreis-rlp.de
The Rhineland-Palatinate Design Award is organized by the Designforum Rhineland-Palatinate and presented by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economic Affairs.
