Mainz University of Applied Sciences at Expo Real 2019

As it does every October, Europe’s largest B2B real estate trade fair, “Expo Real,” took place from October 7 to 9, 2019, offering all cities, economic regions, associations, real estate agents, investors, project developers, architects, and interested parties the opportunity to network and gain an overview of the market. During this time, 47,000 trade show visitors and 2,200 exhibitors from 80 countries were welcomed to the halls of Messe München. Various companies, cities, and regions presented their concepts within a broad framework: “From idea to concept, through investment and financing, to implementation and marketing for use and operation.” The Department of Engineering at Mainz University of Applied Sciences was among them. Students from all engineering programs staffed the booth with enthusiasm and expertise throughout the three days of the fair. During this time, the fair team received on-site technical and pedagogical support from Prof. Dr. Axel Freiboth, Prof. Dr. Andreas Link, Prof. Dr. Stephan Ruhl, and Prof. Thomas Giel. At the partner booth of gif (Gesellschaft für Immobilienwirtschaftliche Forschung e.V.), the Department of Engineering secured one of the few university booths available. Here, the department’s broad range of technical programs was presented and promoted in a high-quality, comprehensive, and appealing manner. The Expo Real Career Day 2019 on October 9 was a resounding success, with numerous interested visitors at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences booth. Under the motto “building networks,” numerous contacts were made in business, academia, and research, and students were inspired to enroll at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. The Department of Engineering’s booth also served as a familiar gathering place for alumni to connect. To raise its profile, stand out in the highly competitive nationwide race for students, and deepen its ties with companies in the construction and real estate industries, the Department of Engineering plans to participate in the Expo Real trade show in Munich again in 2020.
