Once a week, 26 communication design students packed their digital backpacks to fan out across the Japanese islands, into the cities, villages, and various landscapes—via the website https://virtualvacation. On their virtual excursions , they drew inspiration from Japan’s typography, illustration, graphic design, and art.
They brought back their personally designed souvenirs in the form of animations, which can now be viewed—as one of many best-practice examples from last winter semester—in the new online issue of the university magazine “Forum.”
