As part of the collaborative project “KITeGG – Making AI Tangible and Understandable: Connecting Technology and Society Through Design,” the first of eight summer and winter schools on the topic of artificial intelligence in design took place. The consortium partners are Mainz University of Applied Sciences, KISD (Cologne University of Applied Sciences), Offenbach University of Art and Design, Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Art and Design, and Trier University of Applied Sciences. The summer school, titled “Hidden Layers,” took place from July 18–22, 2022, at the Cologne International School of Design, with a focus on “Teaching Machine Learning,” “AI & Society,” and “AI & Materials.” The event was a complete success, and we are already looking forward to the Winter School from November 9–11, 2022, at the HfG Offenbach!
