Under the motto “Come along!”, Mainz University of Applied Sciences organizes guided tours and excursions for its employees from time to time.
In October, employees gathered for a guided tour of the Botanical Garden at Johannes Gutenberg University.
In early December, employees were invited to take a walk through Mainz in the run-up to Christmas. The 30 participants sampled mulled wine, gingerbread, and speculoos, and also took part in a blind scent test of Christmas spices. Together, they reflected on the short story “Thoughts of a Candle” and learned how Goethe experienced the Christmas season.
This exciting city tour was led by Kathrin Dupré. In addition to her work in academic success management at Mainz University of Applied Sciences, she is a member of the association Geographie für Alle e.V. The association’s goal is to make university knowledge accessible to a broad public in an entertaining and vivid way—exploring and experiencing it with all the senses.
Due to the positive response, additional excursions and guided tours are planned for the coming year. These typically take place in the late afternoon and last about 2 hours.
