During this year’s graduation ceremony for the Department of Economics at the Rheingoldhalle, the 2025 Kurt Dörr Prize was awarded to Dr. Elke Lassahn. Alumnity e.V., represented by its chairwoman, Prof. Dr. Britta Rathje, presents this award to individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to the Department of Economics at Mainz University of Applied Sciences.
Dr. Lassahn has contributed in diverse and outstanding ways far beyond her teaching duties. She played a key role in the department’s internationalization, supported the American summer schools, and served with dedication on various committees, particularly the Business Administration Examination Board.
Particularly noteworthy is her many years of service as the university’s Disability Affairs Officer. With empathy, a sense of responsibility, and great dedication, she championed an inclusive and supportive environment, thereby making a lasting contribution to a more humane atmosphere on campus.
The Kurt Dörr Prize, worth 500 euros, is awarded annually by Alumnity e.V. to individuals who have distinguished themselves through exceptional commitment and outstanding service to the Department of Business Administration.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Elke Lassahn on this well-deserved award.
