Master’s degree program “International Management – Latin America” successfully reaccredited

The master’s degree program “International Management – Latin America”, MALA for short, or MALA for short, at the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences has been successfully reaccredited and further developed. Effective immediately, the program is now aimed not only at German students, but also specifically at students from all over Latin America who are interested in an internationally oriented master’s degree in business administration with a double degree.

The degree program is one of the few German-Latin American master’s programs with a focus on economics that is taught entirely in English and Spanish and offers a closely connected combination of theory, practice, and international experience. In addition to the subject-specific content, the program emphasizes intercultural exchange, combined with intensive periods of study abroad at renowned partner universities in Latin America. Students can choose between two specializations:

Focus 1: A ten-month stay at the Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales (UCES) in Buenos Aires, including a master’s thesis in Spanish. Graduates earn two degrees: a Master of Arts from Mainz University of Applied Sciences and a Maestría en Negocios Internacionales from UCES. A particularly attractive feature is financial support from the German-Argentinian University Center (DAHZ) in the form of a monthly stipend of €1,075 and a flight allowance of €1,500 (as of 2025).

Focus 2: A one- or two-semester period of study at one of our Latin American partner universities, including the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá. A double degree is also possible with two semesters abroad and a master’s thesis in Spanish.
Mainz University of Applied Sciences is continuously expanding its strategic partnerships. New cooperative projects are currently being prepared with universities in Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Mexico.
