In May 2023, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Mai had the exciting opportunity to visit our partner university, the École supérieure d'ingénieurs des travaux de la construction (ESITC Paris), in Arcueil, south of Paris. There, he led an English-language course module titled “Hydraulics of Piped Water Systems” and taught a group of ESITC students during an intensive one-week block course.

In the upcoming winter semester, Prof. Mai will once again welcome two of the participating students, this time as “incoming students” in the Department of Civil Engineering at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. This offers a valuable opportunity for further exchange and collaborative learning.
During his visit, discussions also took place with ESITC Director Olivier Aucouturier, Academic Director Antoine Lecocq, and Sophie Hubert Tiphangne, representing the “International Office.”
Prof. Stephan Mai’s visit to ESITC Paris was a great success and another step on our path toward an increasingly networked and internationally oriented Department of Civil Engineering. The visit was funded by the ERASMUS+ program, which enables us to establish and expand such valuable experiences and connections.
