Media Designers at gamescom

At this year's gamescom, the world's largest trade show for computer and video games in Cologne, Mainz University of Applied Sciences is presenting three projects from the Media Design department. These are games and trailers created by students in various semesters.

team. In the game “Tobi G.,” you can explore what goes on inside the mind of an adolescent teenager. Tobi is a normal 15-year-old teenager going through a phase of self-discovery. Ankou teleports players into a dystopian future—to the only place where oxygen is still transported directly into a fully automated greenhouse, surrounded by gardening robots trying to kill everyone. And then there’s an elderly technician... For 25 years, the “Time-Based Media” program at Mainz University of Applied Sciences has been training creative minds for the audiovisual and interactive media sectors. In addition to traditional moving images, media designers focus on 2D and 3D animations, interactive media systems such as websites, games, apps, AR/VR experiences, as well as installations and spatial projections. Thanks to the comprehensive training in these core areas, graduates have access to numerous career opportunities in the media and creative industries. gamescom will take place from August 20 to 24, 2019, at the Koelnmesse exhibition grounds and attracted approximately 370,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors last year.
