Prof. Dr. Stéphane Timmer has been coordinating international activities at the Department of Economics since March 2026

As of March 1, 2026 , Prof. Dr. Stéphane Timmer has served as International Coordinator for the Department of Business Administration at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. In this role, he will strategically develop and specifically strengthen the department’s international activities.

Many students and colleagues already know him as a professor of Strategic and International Management in the Management Division. In his teaching, Prof. Timmer is active in various international degree programs such as IMFA, IMLA, and MAIB, and also teaches English-language bachelor’s-level courses. As a result, he has in-depth insights into the needs and expectations of international full-time and exchange students.

Special thanks go to his predecessor, Prof. Dr. Daniel Porath, who has significantly shaped and further developed the department’s international activities in recent years. Prof. Timmer will continue to draw on his experience and advice in the future.

In addition to further developing existing structures, Prof. Timmer is purposefully introducing new initiatives. Among other things, a dedicated budget for international activities and transparent guidelines for international travel are currently being developed. The goal is to prioritize international initiatives even more strategically in the future and systematically increase their impact.

In the coming months, dialogue with those responsible for international partnerships will also be intensified in order to further expand existing collaborations and establish new, strategically aligned partnerships.

“I am very much looking forward to working together and to further advancing our department’s international activities,” said Prof. Timmer.
