On June 18, 2026, the “PraxisImpulse @ Hochschule Mainz” event series took place for the first time at the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. To kick off the series, the university welcomed the Chemical Innovators Club (CIC), an association of innovation managers from leading companies in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The event was initiated, organized, and provided with expert guidance by Prof. Dr. Sabine Landwehr-Zloch.
The working meeting focused on current challenges and future topics facing the industry. In particular, participants discussed the impact of the AI transformation on the chemical industry, as well as strategies for strengthening resilience and sustainability in value chains. Presentations, workshops, and panel discussions provided participants with the opportunity to exchange perspectives from academia and industry and to jointly develop solutions to current issues.
The discussions made it clear that the transformation of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries is not merely a technological challenge. In addition to innovation, issues of organization, management, and skills development are increasingly taking center stage. The exchange between companies and the university provided valuable insights and opened up new perspectives on current transformation processes in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
The event also marked the launch of the new dialogue format “PraxisImpulse @ Mainz University of Applied Sciences.” The goal of the series is to promote exchange between the university, companies, and other industry partners and to create sustainable networks.
The open and constructive atmosphere was particularly well received. In addition to the technical discussions, numerous new contacts, ideas, and opportunities for collaboration emerged. The exchange between representatives from academia and industry once again highlighted how important such encounters are for innovation, knowledge transfer, and the joint shaping of future developments.
The meeting gave rise to a network of dedicated experts and executives that extends far beyond the topics discussed and forms a foundation for future collaborations.
