The 2026 Summer Semester Has Begun

The Department of Economics Welcomes New Students

On February 2, approximately 100 first-year students began their studies in the Department of Economics. They are enrolled in the dual-track Bachelor’s program in Business Administration as well as in the work-integrated Master’s programs in IT Management and Management. Together with students in higher semesters, this marked—in the middle of winter—the kickoff for the 2026 summer semester.

To kick things off, the new students received all the important information about the organization, structure, and offerings of their programs. They also got to know the support services and the campus. Dean Prof. Dr. Hans-Christoph Reiss welcomed them personally and offered practical tips for a successful start to their studies—ranging from effective self-management and making use of available resources to active participation and networking.

The first courses began immediately afterward. The program combines theory and practice: Students attend lectures one afternoon per week and on Saturdays, and work at their companies on the remaining days.
