On September 26 at 7:00 p.m., the Department of Economics at Mainz University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the Hugo Sinzheimer Institute for Labor and Social Law of the Hans Böckler Foundation, will first screen the film “Sorry, We Missed You” by Ken Loach at the Capitol in Mainz.
Following the screening, representatives from the political sphere, a representative from ver.di, and a representative from the consulting firm “Faire Mobilität” (Piotr Mazurek) will discuss the current state of affairs and concrete options for action in the parcel delivery sector. Also in attendance will be Prof. Dr. Manfred Walser and Anneliese Kärcher (labor law experts at Mainz University of Applied Sciences), who have authored an expert opinion on the constitutional and EU law compliance of a ban on contracts for work in the parcel delivery industry, which will be published shortly.
The event will be moderated by the Hugo Sinzheimer Institute for Labor and Social Law at the Hans Böckler Foundation. Prof. Dr. Susanne Weissman, President of Mainz University of Applied Sciences, will deliver the opening remarks.
