At this year’s spirIT – IT & Media Project Day on November 6, 2025, in the auditorium of Mainz University of Applied Sciences, students gave impressive presentations on what is possible in the digital world. Teams from the Business Informatics, Digital Media, Applied Computer Science, and IT Management programs presented their innovative projects and showcased the full range of current technologies and creative IT solutions.
In total, the teams competed in four categories. The submitted projects once again highlighted just how practical, creative, and forward-looking the education in the Business Informatics cluster is.

Each winning team received prize money of 500 euros.
In addition, two outstanding bachelor’s theses and two outstanding master’s theses were recognized and each awarded prize money of 250 euros.
The project day underscores that students in the Business Informatics cluster not only develop innovative ideas—they create solutions that can be put to immediate practical use.
Numerous companies—including IT-Klub, DATAGROUP Consulting Services GmbH, Medialine EuroTrade AG, Debeka Krankenversicherungsverein a. G., ITs-plus GmbH & Co. KG, R+V Versicherung, and HDP Gesellschaft für ganzheitliche Datenverarbeitung mbH—regularly support the Project Day and donate the prize money. Their enthusiasm for the projects demonstrates the strong connection between academic study and professional practice.
For many years, the Project Day has been at the heart of the Business Informatics cluster. It stands for exchange, inspiration, and genuine “hands-on” IT—where creativity, technology, and teamwork come together directly.
spirIT embodies what defines this day: a spirit of innovation, technological expertise, and a strong team spirit.
