Awards Ceremony at the Frankfurt Museum of Communication
The interactive installation “STIMMMALER – Paint With Your Voice” by master’s student Benjamin Böhm was awarded first prize in the “Entertainment” category at the “Zukunftspreis Kommunikation” on November 10, 2014.The awards ceremony was held at the Frankfurt Museum of Communication by the DVPT (German Association for Postal Services, Information Technology, and Telecommunications). “Stimmmaler – Paint with Your Voice” was first presented to great acclaim at the Science Market in Mainz in 2013. In this interactive installation, visitors can paint on a projected screen using their own voices. Visitors interact with a voice-activated megaphone that controls the brush on the virtual canvas. At the same time, it records their speech, which influences both the color and the stroke width of the brush.
A project of the Institute for Media Design, Mainz University of Applied Sciences (Prof. Anja Stöffler) in cooperation with the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore, and the MIT Media Lab, USA (Dr. Jochen Huber).
