Gutenberg Digital Hub Opens on February 4, 2019

Sealed at the opening ceremony on November 16, 2018, the strategic partnership between Mainz University of Applied Sciences and Gutenberg Digital Hub is now in full swing. Starting Monday, February 4, 2019, the Digital Hub at the Altes Weinlager will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The two partners promote application-oriented research and teaching on digitalization and its impact on society and the economy. The university was already actively involved in various preparatory ways during the Digital Hub’s founding phase. The Gutenberg Digital Hub is a place for networking, learning, and experiencing digital transformation firsthand. In addition to workstations, coworking spaces, meeting rooms, and event areas, the Hub’s facilities also feature digital labs where the latest technologies can be used to develop innovations and new business models to advance digitalization in Mainz and the surrounding region. The plan is for courses, for example, to be held at the Digital Hub to take advantage of its innovative atmosphere. To facilitate professional exchange, so-called focus groups provide a cross-institutional and cross-organizational forum for like-minded individuals to discuss digital topics. Currently, the following groups meet regularly:
  • Agile Coach / Agile Management
  • Online Marketing
  • Public Service / E-Government
  • Smart City / Digital City
  • Research Advisory Board
  • Among others
If you’re interested, be sure to check out the Digital Hub’s website at
(www.gutenberg-digital-hub.de). For Mainz University of Applied Sciences, Professors Oliver Mauroner and Sven Pagel are available as points of contact for all matters related to the Digital Hub. We look forward to bringing this strategic partnership to life!
