Anniversary symposium for on-the-job degree in Management

Over more than a decade ago, the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences launched the M.Sc. degree program in Management. To mark this occasion as well as the start of a new degree program structure, the School of Business invited students to a symposium at the LUX Pavilion of Mainz University of Applied Sciences on March 17, 2023.

About 80 people followed the panel discussion on the topic The Future of Management. The panel included executives from well-known companies in the Rhine-Main region: Dr. Nina Moyer (Head of HR, Schott), Christjan Knudsen (HR Director, Boehringer Ingelheim), and Florian Haas (Director Procurement R&D, BioNTech).

Prof. Dr. Christian Au, director of the degree program, served as moderator for the discussion. The demands on management have changed dramatically. Companies must respond by meeting the expectations of the younger generation. In this context, topics such as employee retention, feedback culture, diversity, incentive systems, corporate values (purpose), and sustainability were at the heart of the discussion. Following a question and answer session, the former program director Prof. Dr. Herbert Paul was honored and given a farewell. The guests then had the opportunity to network over finger food and wine from Rheinhessen.
