[Translate to English:] Das Team des Sprachenzentrums

Language test offered for 15 years already

When it comes to studying abroad and many masters' degree programs, proof of language proficiency using the TOEFL iBT is usually required. Mainz University of Applied Sciences has had its own official testing center for the globally recognized language test since 2007. Thanks to the excellent cooperation over the past 15 years, the testing center at Mainz University of Applied Sciences has now received a wall plaque from TOEFL ETS. This is a testimony to the quality of the team in Mainz.

The TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) primarily tests language qualifications in the academic sector. The language test is administered individually on computers in the test center and takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. The maximum score for the iBT is 120 points. Despite the pandemic, in recent years more than 300 examinees from a wide range of countries came to the testing center at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Participants from Belgium, France, Luxembourg, and Austria, as well as from China, South Korea, Japan, and India took the test at Mainz University of Applied Sciences.

The TOEFL iBT is the most widely accepted language test in North America and Asia, and is recognized worldwide as proof of English proficiency and as a prerequisite for admission. At Mainz University of Applied Sciences, a specific TOEFL score is also a prerequisite for various master's degree programs.
