With her entry “Tiny Greenhouse,” architecture student Lucia Schmitz won second prize in the upcycling competition.
“In this upcycling project, a reusable pallet serves as the foundation for a small greenhouse. For several years now, pallet furniture has been making its mark in interior and exterior design. The greenhouse can be built on a tight budget and can be customized to suit different circumstances.” (Lucia Schmitz)
Sandy Schwarz won third prize, worth 500€, with his idea “Green Ice Cream.”
“Although flexible ice cream cones are available in stores, they have the drawback of generating waste or being quite expensive to purchase or produce. Recycling toothpaste tubes is easy and can be done even without any technical skills. With just a few simple steps, you can make your own ice cream cone.” (Sandy Schwarz)
The competition entries were created during a weekend workshop led by Prof. Gero Quasten.
