With the exhibition “What We Collect,” theMuseum of Applied Art asks designers from the greater Frankfurt am Main area what they collect and why.
For the exhibition, designers were asked about their private collections because the museum focuses in particular on the work of product and graphic designers, as well as designers in the broader sense. The aim is to explore the connections, backgrounds, and motivations behind collecting and to facilitate contextualizations that extend beyond the museum: What can we learn from collecting, and what can we share with one another?
